Soda vs HoroClick: Back-Office Tool or Trade Network?

HoroClick runs one shop's inventory, consignments and workshop. Soda connects verified dealers to trade. An honest comparison as of October 2026.

6 min read

The short answer

HoroClick is an Australian web app for running one watch business: inventory, consignments, sourcing requests, client records and a watchmaker workshop, priced at AUD $99 a month as of October 2026. Soda is a trade-only platform where verified dealers buy, sell, auction and trade with each other, with inventory, invoices and real dealer price history built in, and no commissions.

Key takeaways

  • HoroClick is built around the inside of one business: stock, consignments, repairs and clients.
  • Soda is built around the deals between businesses: a marketplace of verified dealers.
  • HoroClick's sourcing requests match your own incoming stock; Soda's Looking For matches every verified dealer's listings.
  • Soda adds binding deals, live auctions and verified payment details to the inventory side.

Here's the short verdict. HoroClick is software for running the inside of one watch business. Soda is a platform for the deals that happen between watch businesses. If you're choosing between them, the real question isn't which has more features. It's whether your biggest problem is your back office or the trade itself.

I wrote this because dealers ask me about tools like HoroClick, and they deserve a straight answer rather than a sales pitch. I respect anyone building software for this trade. It has gone without it for too long. For the wider picture of every category, see how the main watch dealer platforms compare.

What HoroClick is

HoroClick is an Australian web app, founded in 2025, for "watch dealers, consignment shops and watchmakers".[3] As of October 2026, its features page describes one system for inventory, consignments, clients, sourcing and margins: logging a watch from your phone, a database of over 10,000 models to fill in specs, six condition grades, box and papers, up to 10 photos per watch, consignments with reserve prices, commission rates and payout statements, and margins that include polishing and service costs with GST separated.[2]

It also has a "sourcing requests" feature: a client want list with a budget and deadline, matched automatically against stock coming into your business.[2]

Pricing, as listed on their site in October 2026: Premium at AUD $99 a month or AUD $990 a year, with unlimited inventory, consignments, contacts, invoicing, webhooks and bulk import and export. Enterprise is "arranged directly" and adds unlimited team members, role-based permissions, audit logs and a REST API.[1]

That's a serious set of tools for a shop or a workshop. It is built around what happens inside your four walls.

Why I built Soda differently

I sold watches for years before building Soda, and I'm still in many paid dealer groups. The thing that cost dealers the most time and money was never the spreadsheet. It was the trade between dealers: group chats, screenshots, payment details sent by message, and trust that nobody could check.

So I didn't build another back office first. I built one place, by dealers for dealers, where every business is verified and every deal has rules. The inventory, invoices and price history are there because a dealer needs them to trade, not as the whole point.

A tool for your shop, or a network for your trade

This is the core difference. As far as we could find, HoroClick's "shared inventory" is shared across your own team on Enterprise.[1] We couldn't find a dealer-to-dealer marketplace on their public website as of October 2026.

On Soda, the moment you publish a watch, your listing goes live instantly to every verified dealer in one marketplace. One search bar finds references typed any way, nicknames like "Batman", small typos, dealers and accessories. You're not managing stock in one place and then pasting it into a dozen groups to sell it. And if you still post in groups, Quick Copy writes a formatted WhatsApp or Facebook post from your inventory in two clicks.

Your client's wish list vs the whole trade's stock

HoroClick's sourcing requests are a good idea: write down what a client wants, and get flagged when it arrives in your stock.[2] The limit is that it can only match what comes through your own door.

A Looking For request on Soda works across the trade. Set the reference, the set, condition, card year and budget, and you're alerted in the app and by email the moment any verified dealer lists a match. Sellers with a matching watch in their inventory can reach out to you. Your client's request stops being a note and becomes a live search of the network.

Deals with rules, not just records

A back-office tool records a sale after it happens. A trading platform has to make the sale itself safe. On Soda:

  • Mark as Sold commits a buyer at the listed price. The first confirmed buyer wins, there's a backup queue, and the seller confirms within 24 hours.
  • Offers are binding for the time you choose: 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days. Trade offers put items on both sides plus cash either way, and cash moves before shipping.
  • Payment details never travel by chat. Both sides see each other's secure, verified payment details only inside an agreed deal, and any change has to be confirmed by email and text, with counterparties notified. We never touch your money.
  • Shipping terms are confirmed by both sides, with tracking, packing photos or video, and documents stored on the deal.

Every profile shows the verification date, completed deals, completion rate, ratings, vouches and strikes. That's what replaces the reference check.

Inventory and invoices, still covered

You don't give up the business tools. The inventory manager keeps private cost and margin visible only to your company, with bulk actions, private stock and CSV or Excel export. Invoices take about 5 seconds in your own style. On the Team plan, you can publish from the same inventory to your own Shopify store, eBay US and a Chrono24 feed, with separate wholesale and end user prices. The Chrono24 feed is a once-a-day import.

And price history comes from real deals on the platform, so you can check what a reference actually traded for before you buy.

Who should switch

Be honest about what you need. If you run a repair workshop or a consignment counter and want diagnostics and payout statements, a tool built for that job fits. Soda is for watch dealers who trade with other dealers: verified businesses that want one place to buy, sell, auction and trade, with records that hold up. It's trade-only, and every business is checked by our team before it can trade. For what to look for in any tool, see our watch dealer software buyer's guide.

The bottom line

HoroClick is a capable back office for one watch business, as of October 2026. Soda is the network where verified dealers trade with each other, with inventory, invoices and real dealer price data built in. If your stock is organised but your deals still run through group chats, the gap is the trade, not the spreadsheet.

Questions dealers ask

Is HoroClick worth it?

If your main need is running one shop's inventory, consignments and repair workshop, with Australian GST handled, HoroClick is built for that. If your main need is buying and selling with other dealers you can trust, you need a dealer network, which is what Soda is.

How much does HoroClick cost?

As listed on their site in October 2026, HoroClick Premium is AUD $99 a month or AUD $990 a year, and Enterprise is arranged directly with the company.

What is the best HoroClick alternative for watch dealers?

It depends on the job. For dealer-to-dealer trading, Soda gives you a marketplace of verified businesses, binding Mark as Sold and offers, live auctions, Looking For alerts and verified payment details, plus inventory and invoices, with no commissions.

Can I use HoroClick and Soda together?

Yes. You can keep a workshop or consignment tool for in-house work and use Soda for trading with other dealers. There is no connection between the two products, so stock would be entered in each.
