This Cookie Policy explains how Daytime Consulting uses cookies and similar technologies on soda.watches. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things, such as the fact that you are signed in. "Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage and pixels. In this policy we call all of these "cookies".
Cookies set by us are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company through our site are third-party cookies.
2. How we group cookies
We use three categories. You can choose which optional categories to allow at any time.
Essential
These cookies are needed for the Platform to work and cannot be switched off. They do not require consent. Examples:
| Purpose | Example | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Keeping you signed in securely | Authentication session cookie | Session to 30 days |
| Protecting forms against cross-site request forgery | Security token | Session |
| Remembering your cookie choices | cookie_consent | 180 days |
| Remembering light or dark appearance | Theme preference (local storage) | Until cleared |
| Fraud prevention and payment security | Stripe security cookies, set only when you pay | Up to 2 years |
| Remembering the referral link you opened, so the dealer who invited you is credited when you apply | referral_code | 30 days |
| Remembering which team member shared that referral link | referral_from | 30 days |
Referral cookies. When you open an active referral link (a page at /r/…, or an application link that includes a referral code), we save the referral code in a first-party cookie called referral_code for 30 days, so the dealer who invited you is still credited if you look around the site before applying. If the link belonged to a particular team member, a second cookie, referral_from, holds that person's public member number. The cookies contain no information about you. Opening a newer referral link replaces the older one until you start your application; after that, the referral attached to your application no longer changes. Links that are no longer active set no cookie.
Analytics
With your permission, analytics help us understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it: for example which pages are visited and where people get stuck. Data is aggregated and we configure tools to minimise personal data where possible.
We use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel Inc., which also hosts the Platform. It only runs if you allow analytics in the cookie banner or in Preferences, and it stops as soon as you switch analytics off. It records the page you visited, the site that sent you, your country and your browser, operating system and type of device. It does not set cookies to track you, does not store your IP address and does not build a profile of you across websites. Before anything is sent, we remove the parts of a page address that could identify a person or a record (such as invitation links, account and record numbers and anything after a "?"), and we never record pages used by our staff.
Marketing
With your permission, marketing cookies help us measure the performance of our advertising and show relevant messages about Soda on other sites. We do not use them inside the signed-in dealer area. We don't use any marketing cookies yet. Before we add any, we will name the providers here, and they will only run with your permission.
3. Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. You can:
- Accept all optional cookies;
- Reject non-essential cookies, in which case only essential cookies are used; or
- open Preferences to switch analytics and marketing on or off individually.
Rejecting optional cookies is as easy as accepting them, and it never limits your access to the Platform.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. We store your choice in a first-party cookie called cookie_consent for 180 days, after which we will ask again.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Platform, such as signing in, from working.
4. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Where the law requires, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of marketing cookies. We apply this automatically: when your browser sends the signal, marketing cookies stay off, whatever you chose in the banner. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals do not have an agreed standard, so we rely on your choices in our cookie banner instead.
5. Third parties
Where third-party cookies are used, the third party's own privacy policy also applies. We choose providers carefully and require them to protect your information.
6. Changes
If we add new categories or providers we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent again.
