Soda vs Vericog: Channel Sync or a Dealer Network?

Vericog syncs one dealer's watches to eBay, Shopify and Chrono24 and says it isn't a marketplace. Here's how a verified dealer network compares, October 2026.

5 min read

The short answer

Vericog is commission-free inventory software that syncs a dealer's watches to eBay and Shopify and sends a Chrono24 feed; it says it isn't a marketplace. Soda is a trade-only marketplace where verified dealers buy, sell, auction and trade with each other, with price history from real deals, inventory, invoices and, on the Team plan, publishing to Shopify, eBay US and Chrono24.

Key takeaways

  • Vericog describes itself as inventory software that 'isn't a marketplace'.
  • Its market data is based on active eBay asking prices; confirmed sold comps are listed as a roadmap item.
  • Soda is built around the dealer-to-dealer trade: verified businesses, binding deals and live auctions.
  • Soda's price history comes from real deals on the platform.
  • On the Team plan, Soda also publishes to your own Shopify store, eBay US and a Chrono24 feed.

On this page

Vericog says it plainly on its own homepage: it "isn't a marketplace and it takes no cut of your sales."[1] That's an honest description, and it's the clearest way to explain the difference. Vericog keeps one dealer's watches in sync across retail channels. Soda is the marketplace: a trade-only network where verified dealers buy, sell, auction and trade with each other, with inventory and retail publishing built in.

Here's how they compare, using only what Vericog publishes, as of October 2026. For every category of tool side by side, see how watch dealer platforms compare.

What Vericog is

Vericog, LLC sells inventory software for "independent dealers, boutiques, and wholesale watch businesses managing high-value inventory across multiple sales channels," with the headline "Never sell the same watch twice."[1] Each record holds the serial, condition, box, papers and warranty card, cost basis, asking price, listing state, service history and photos.[3]

It connects to eBay and Shopify by API and sends Chrono24 an outbound XML feed. Orders detected on eBay and Shopify trigger linked delists.[3] Its pricing page is clear that Chrono24 is feed-only, with no Chrono24 order import on any plan.[2]

Three plans are listed: Starter (up to 25 active watches, 1 user), Professional (up to 100, 2 users) and Dealer (unlimited, 5 to 10 users). Prices aren't published on the page. Dealer pricing is custom, and trials "may be offered to qualified operating dealers after the fit review."[2]

Why I built Soda differently

Syncing channels solves a real problem: a watch listed in four places can sell twice. But I sold watches for years before building Soda, and most of my problems weren't on eBay. They were in the trade between dealers, which still runs on group chats, screenshots and trust that can't be checked.

So I built the place where dealers trade, and made the inventory and the retail channels part of it. One watch, one record, sold to the trade or to the public.

Selling to the trade, not only to the public

Retail channels reach end users. They don't reach the dealer three states away who has a client waiting for exactly your watch. On Soda, every public listing and auction from every verified dealer sits in one marketplace with one search bar that understands references in any format, nicknames and typos.

Buying works the same way in reverse. Post a Looking For request with the reference, set, condition, card year and budget, and you're alerted in the app and by email the moment a match is listed. Sellers whose inventory matches can reach out to you.

Asking prices vs real deals

Vericog's features page describes its market data as "active eBay asking prices, listing counts, listing age," and lists "confirmed sold comps" as a roadmap feature.[3] Asking prices tell you what sellers hope for. They're useful, but they're not what the trade paid.

Deals that hold, and records that last

When dealers trade, the risk isn't overselling on eBay. It's a buyer who backs out, a seller who sells to someone else, or payment details swapped in a message. On Soda:

  • Mark as Sold commits a buyer at the listed price. The first confirmed buyer wins, the seller confirms within 24 hours, and there's a backup queue.
  • Binding offers (24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days) and trade offers with items on both sides and cash either way.
  • Live auctions with verified real-name bidders, max bids and a 60-second soft close. No deposits.
  • Secure, verified payment details shown only inside an agreed deal; any change is confirmed by the owner by email or text, and counterparties are notified. We never touch your money.

Every deal keeps its shipping terms, tracking, packing proof, documents and invoices in one place, and every profile shows completed deals, ratings, vouches and strikes.

Your retail channels, on the Team plan

You don't lose retail by joining the trade. On the Team plan, Soda's inventory manager publishes to your own Shopify store, eBay US and a Chrono24 feed that Chrono24 imports about once a day. Your wholesale price and end-user price are kept separate, so other dealers never see your retail price. A paid Shopify or eBay order marks the watch sold and takes it down from the other channels; Chrono24 doesn't report sales, so you record those yourself.

Who Soda is for

Soda is trade-only: verified watch businesses that buy from and sell to other dealers, and want their retail channels run from the same inventory. If you never trade with other dealers, a channel-sync tool may cover you. If the trade is part of your month, you need the network.

The Solo plan is $80 USD a month; the Team plan, with employee seats and retail publishing, is $150 USD a month. Both have the same features otherwise. No commissions. No initiation fee.

The bottom line

Vericog keeps one dealer's stock in sync across eBay, Shopify and a Chrono24 feed, and says it isn't a marketplace. Soda is the marketplace for verified dealers, with binding deals, live auctions, verified payment details and price history from real deals, and it publishes to your own retail channels on the Team plan.

Questions dealers ask

Is Vericog worth it?

If your business is selling your own stock across eBay, Shopify and Chrono24 and you want those channels kept in step, Vericog is built for that. If you also buy from and sell to other dealers, you'll need a place to find them, check who they are and close binding deals.

How much does Vericog cost?

As of October 2026, Vericog's pricing page lists three plans (Starter up to 25 active watches, Professional up to 100, Dealer unlimited) but doesn't publish prices. Dealer pricing is custom, and trials may be offered after a fit review.

Does Vericog charge commission?

No. Vericog says it takes no cut of your sales and charges a flat monthly price. Soda doesn't charge commissions either.

What is the best Vericog alternative for dealers who trade with other dealers?

A platform that combines your inventory with a marketplace of verified businesses. Soda lets verified dealers buy, sell, auction and trade with each other, and its Team plan publishes the same inventory to Shopify, eBay US and a Chrono24 feed.
