The short answer
WatchTrack is store management software for watch dealers: inventory, purchase and consignment agreements, invoices, payables and receivables, client tracking, and a subscriber network called WatchTrack Connect. Soda is the alternative for dealers whose priority is trading with other dealers: verified businesses only, Mark as Sold, binding offers, live auctions, Looking For alerts, verified payment details and price history from real deals.
Key takeaways
- WatchTrack's App Store listing describes an app for running a watch store's daily operations.
- WatchTrack added subscriber posting and sourcing requests on its Connect network in recent updates.
- Soda is built trade-first: a verified, trade-only marketplace where deals are binding and recorded.
- Soda's back office comes with it: inventory, invoices and, on the Team plan, Shopify, eBay US and Chrono24 publishing.

My short verdict: WatchTrack is built to run a watch store. Soda is built to run the trade between dealers. Both include inventory and documents, but they start from different places. WatchTrack starts at your counter, with your clients and your paperwork. Soda starts at the deal between two dealers, and makes sure both sides are verified, committed and protected.
I'll keep to what WatchTrack says about itself on its own website and App Store listing as of October 2026, cited throughout. For the full picture across categories, see how watch dealer platforms compare.
What WatchTrack is
WatchTrack describes itself as "the easiest way to run your watch business".[2] Its iPhone, iPad and Mac app is listed as "WatchTrack - Store Management" and calls WatchTrack "the operating system for modern watch dealers".[1]
According to that listing, you can monitor your inventory, automatically generate detailed papertrails, create transactions and generate purchase agreements, invoices and consignment agreements with a single click, track accounts payable and receivable and log payments, and track watches that clients own and want, to automatically find buyers and sellers. It also says WatchTrack "uses AI to scan your inventory and find qualified leads".[1]
The version history shows the dealer network side arriving recently. Version 1.40 says "WatchTrack subscribers can now post on WatchTrack Connect", and the next update added sourcing requests to Connect.[1]
We couldn't read WatchTrack's plan prices on its public website as of October 2026, so I've left cost out of this comparison. Check watchtrack.com for current plans.
Why I built Soda differently
I sold watches for years, and I'm still in many paid dealer groups. The riskiest part of this business usually isn't the counter. It's the trade between dealers, which still runs on group chats, screenshots and trust that can't be checked: who's really committed, who's really on the other side, and whether the bank details are real.
Store software makes the shop run better. It doesn't make the trade between dealers safer. So I built Soda trade-first: one place built by dealers for dealers, where every counterparty is verified and every deal is binding. The back office came with it, because a deal should flow straight into your inventory and invoices.

A network that is the product, not a tab
WatchTrack Connect gives subscribers a place to post and to send sourcing requests.[1] On Soda, the network isn't a feature of the software. It is the software.
Every listing goes live instantly in one marketplace of every verified dealer's public listings and auctions, and only listings with blocked words are held for review. One search bar finds references in any format, nicknames like "Batman" or "Pepsi", small typos, dealers and accessories. Before anyone trades, our team reviews their ID, a selfie holding the ID and business documents, and each employee on a Team account gets their own ID check. Contact details stay private; you talk in the app with the watch attached.
Binding deals between dealers
A post is the start of a deal, not the deal. On Soda, a buyer taps Mark as Sold to commit at the listed price. The first confirmed buyer wins, the seller confirms within 24 hours, and a backup queue steps in if the first buyer falls through. Offers are binding for 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days. Trade offers put items on both sides with cash either way, and cash moves before shipping. Live auctions use verified real-name bidders, max bids, tiered increments and a 60-second soft close, with binding bids and no deposits.
Behind all of it sits a visible track record: every profile shows the verification date, completed deals, completion rate, ratings, vouches and strikes. Backing out earns a strike. Disputes go to our staff disputes centre.
Looking For, matched to real stock
Sourcing is where dealers spend their days. On Soda, a Looking For request can specify the reference, years, set, condition, card year and budget. When a matching watch is listed, you're alerted in the app and by email. Sellers see requests that match their own inventory and can reach out, or offer the watch privately to that one dealer.
The back office that comes with the trade
Soda is trade-first, and the tools a trading dealer needs every day are built in: an inventory manager with private cost and margin, bulk actions and CSV or Excel export; invoices in 5 seconds in your own style, Letter or A4; price history and sold comps from real deals on the platform; and on the Team plan, publishing to your own Shopify store, eBay US and a Chrono24 feed with separate wholesale and end-user prices. For how to keep stock under control, see watch dealer inventory management.
Who should switch
Soda is trade-only, for verified watch businesses that buy and sell with other dealers. If most of your week is spent sourcing from dealers, selling to dealers and chasing who's committed, it's built for you. If your business is mainly a shop floor serving retail clients, store software is aimed at that job.
Our two plans have the same features; Team adds employee seats. Solo is $80 USD a month and Team is $150 USD a month, with no commissions and no initiation fee. See pricing.
The bottom line
WatchTrack, by its own description, is an app for running a watch store, with a subscriber network called Connect added in recent updates. Soda is a verified, trade-only network where dealer-to-dealer deals are binding, payment details are verified, and every dealer's record is visible, with inventory, invoices and retail publishing built in.
Built for the deal between dealers
I built Soda for the people who actually do this work: the dealers trading with each other every day. Run your whole business from one tab. See how we compare, see all features, then apply for access or book a demo.
Questions dealers ask
Is WatchTrack worth it?
If your main need is running a watch store, with agreements, invoices, payables and receivables and client tracking, WatchTrack is built for that job. If your main need is buying and selling with other dealers safely, compare it with a platform built around dealer-to-dealer deals.
What is the best WatchTrack alternative for watch dealers?
For dealers who trade mostly with other dealers, Soda is a trade-only platform: every member is a verified business, buyers commit with Mark as Sold or binding offers, auctions are live with verified real-name bidders, and every deal shows verified payment details inside the deal page.
What is WatchTrack Connect?
According to WatchTrack's App Store version history, WatchTrack Connect is where WatchTrack subscribers can post, and sourcing requests were added to it in a later update, as of October 2026.
