What does “WTT” mean?
Want To Trade.
WTT, explained
WTT stands for Want To Trade. The person posting wants to swap a watch they own for something else, rather than sell it for money. It differs from FSOT in emphasis: FSOT means a sale or a trade is fine, while WTT usually signals that a trade is the main goal, often because the owner wants a different watch rather than cash.
Trades are common between dealers who need to rebalance stock and between collectors upgrading or changing direction. The key questions are the same as for any purchase, but on both sides: is each watch genuine, original and as described, and is there a fair difference in value to settle with cash? It is good practice to agree the balance, who ships first or whether a neutral middleman handles the exchange, and how condition disputes will be resolved, before anything is sent.
An example post: “WTT: my IWC Portugieser Chronograph, 2021, full set, for a Grand Seiko Snowflake SBGA211. Happy to discuss cash either way.”
