What does “FSOT” mean?

For Sale Or Trade.

FSOT, explained

FSOT stands for For Sale Or Trade. It tells buyers that the watch is available for a straight sale, but the seller is also open to swapping it for another watch, with or without money changing hands to balance the deal. You see it in dealer groups and forum sales posts, often paired with a short list of what the seller would like in return.

For dealers, FSOT widens the pool of possible deals. A collector who cannot pay outright may still have a watch you can resell, and trades are common when stock is moving between dealers in different markets. The important detail is the balance: if the two watches differ in value, one side adds cash, and both parties should agree clearly in writing who pays what before anything ships. Each side should also check the incoming watch with the same care as a purchase, including condition, originality and paperwork.

An example post: “FSOT: Omega Speedmaster Professional, 2022 card, full set. Interested in a Tudor Black Bay 58 plus cash my side, or straight sale.”
