Listing abbreviations
What does “WTS” mean?
Want To Sell.
WTS, explained
WTS stands for Want To Sell. It means much the same as FS, and the two are used interchangeably in sales threads and chat groups. Some sellers prefer WTS when they are testing interest or will only sell at the right number, while FS reads as a firmer listing, but there is no strict rule.
In practice, a WTS post is an invitation for offers or direct purchase, and it is worth treating it as seriously as any other listing. Before committing, buyers check the same things they always would: the reference, the year on the papers, the condition, what comes with the watch and the seller's reputation. Sellers get better responses when they state those details up front, along with location and shipping arrangements, instead of leaving them for private messages.
WTS is the mirror image of WTB (Want To Buy), and you often see both in the same group as dealers match buyers with stock. A short example: “WTS: Cartier Santos, medium size, steel, 2024, full set, excellent condition, can ship insured within the EU.”
