Soda vs Mazalgo: A Dealer Workbench or a Verified Trading Floor?
Mazalgo is a pricing and deal workbench that says it is not a marketplace. Here is how a verified, trade-only dealer platform compares, as of October 2026.

The short answer
Mazalgo is browser-based software for independent watch traders: pricing comps from eBay and auction records, want-to-buy scanning, counterparty checks, inventory, CRM and invoicing, from $79 a month as of October 2026. It says it is not a marketplace. Soda is a trade-only marketplace of verified dealers with binding Mark as Sold, offers, live auctions, deal pages with verified payment details, inventory and invoices, with no commissions.
Key takeaways
- Mazalgo describes itself as a workbench for dealers, and says plainly that it is not a marketplace.
- Soda is the marketplace: every member is a business our team has verified before they can trade.
- Mazalgo's comps draw on eBay and auction records; Soda price history comes only from real deals and asks on the platform.
- Mazalgo says pulling listings off other channels is still on you; Soda Team takes a sold watch down from your connected channels.
- Neither charges transaction fees or commissions on your sales.

Mazalgo and Soda get mentioned in the same conversations, but they answer different questions. Mazalgo asks: how do I price, source and track my own deals better? Soda asks: where do I trade with other dealers, and how do I know they are who they say they are? My short verdict: if your bottleneck is analysis, look at a workbench. If your bottleneck is the trade itself, the people, the deals and the money, you need a trading floor.
I wrote this because dealers ask me how the two compare, and they deserve a straight answer, not a sales page. For the wider picture, see our watch dealer platform comparison.
What Mazalgo is
Mazalgo is browser-based software for "independent watch dealers and traders" and "active collectors who buy and sell".[1] Its own homepage is clear about what it is not: "Not a marketplace, and not for retail boutiques".[1]
As of October 2026, its site describes:
- Pricing comps built on live eBay context and 19,000+ auction records, with what it calls B3AF buy ranges and margin after fees.[1]
- Want-to-buy scanning of Reddit and WatchUSeek every 30 minutes, and on the higher tier, scanners that "sweep r/watchexchange, WatchUSeek, eBay".[1][2]
- Counterparty checks, which Mazalgo calls "24-point" checks across identity, address and phone.[1]
- Inventory, a deal pipeline, CRM, P&L, invoicing, consignment tracking and payment tracking with "partial settlements, aging, and overdue follow-up".[3]
Pricing, as listed on their site in October 2026: Mazalgo Suite at $79 a month or $790 a year, and Suite + OpenWatch at $149 a month or $1,490 a year, with a 14-day trial, no card, a 30-day money-back guarantee and no transaction fees.[2]
That's a serious toolkit, built by people who clearly know the trade. It is a tool you run on your business. It isn't where the other side of your deal lives.
Why I built Soda differently
I sold watches for years before building Soda, and I'm still in many paid dealer groups. What cost me sleep was never a missing spreadsheet column. It was the other side of the deal: is this really the dealer I think it is, will "SOLD" actually mean sold, and are these bank details real?
A workbench can help you check a counterparty. I wanted a place where every counterparty has already been checked, by a team, before they're allowed to trade. So Soda is the marketplace itself: a platform, not a group chat, built by watch dealers who've lived every one of these headaches.

A trading floor, not just a lookup
The biggest difference is structural. When Mazalgo finds a want-to-buy post on a forum, the deal still happens out there, on that forum's terms, with whoever wrote it.
On Soda, the deal happens inside the platform. A marketplace of every verified dealer's listings means the watch you need and the dealer who has it are already in the same place. Your listing goes live instantly. One search bar understands references typed any way, nicknames and small typos. And when nothing matches yet, a Looking For request, with set, condition, card year and budget, alerts you the moment a verified dealer lists it.
Verified before they trade, not checked after you've found them
Mazalgo's counterparty checks are a sensible tool for an open market. Soda takes a different approach: nobody trades until our team has reviewed them. That's a manual review of ID, a selfie with the ID and business documents.
After that, every profile carries the dealer's real full name, company, rank and flag, plus the verification date, completed deals, completion rate, ratings, vouches and strikes. Contact details stay private and conversations stay in the app, with the watch attached. Our team doesn't trade on Soda, so nobody running the platform is competing with you for the same watch.
Binding deals and verified payment details
Analysis tells you what to pay. It doesn't stop a buyer from walking away or a fake "updated bank details" message from landing in the middle of a deal.
On Soda, tapping Mark as Sold commits the buyer at the listed price. The first confirmed buyer wins, there's a backup queue, and the seller confirms within 24 hours. Binding offers run for 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days. Trade offers let both sides put watches and cash on the table, with cash moving before shipping.
Once a deal is agreed, both sides see each other's secure, verified payment details on the deal page and nowhere else. Any change must be confirmed by the owner by email or text, and counterparties are notified. We never touch your money. Shipping terms are confirmed by both sides, with tracking and packing photos or video stored with the deal. For the habits that matter on any deal, see how to buy a watch from a dealer safely.
Two different kinds of pricing data
Mazalgo builds comps from live eBay context and auction records.[1] That's public, retail-facing data.
Soda price history comes only from real deals and asking prices on the platform, between verified dealers. No third-party data. The comps panel shows how many sold, the median, the range and a chart for each reference. It answers a narrower question, what the trade actually paid, and that's the question I wanted answered when I was buying.
When the watch sells, it comes down
Mazalgo's own comparison page says it "doesn't push delistings to eBay, Chrono24, or your WhatsApp groups".[4]
On the Soda Team plan, one inventory can publish to your own Shopify store, eBay US and a Chrono24 feed, with separate wholesale and end-user prices. When the watch sells, it's taken down from Shopify and eBay and dropped from the Chrono24 feed, which Chrono24 imports once a day. For groups you still post in, Quick Copy writes a formatted WhatsApp or Facebook post from your inventory in two clicks.
Who Soda is for
Soda is trade-only. It's for registered watch businesses that buy and sell with other dealers and are happy to be verified: solo dealers on Solo, and teams on Team, where every employee gets their own login and their own ID check. Both plans have the same features; Team adds seats and retail channels. If you're a collector, or you only want research tools for your own deals, a workbench may suit you better.
The bottom line
Mazalgo is a workbench for analysing and tracking your own deals, and it says so. Soda is where verified dealers actually trade: one marketplace, binding deals, live auctions, verified payment details, inventory, invoices and real dealer price history, with no commissions. Questions dealers ask
Is Mazalgo worth it?
If you want a pricing and lead-finding workbench for your own buying and selling, Mazalgo lists that at $79 a month, or $149 with its OpenWatch agent, as of October 2026, with a 14-day trial. If you want a place where verified dealers list, bid and close binding deals with each other, that's a different product: a dealer marketplace.
What is the best Mazalgo alternative for watch dealers?
It depends on the job. For trading with other dealers, Soda is a trade-only marketplace where every business is verified by our team, deals are binding, payment details are verified and shown only inside an agreed deal, and there are no commissions.
Does Mazalgo charge commission?
No. As of October 2026 Mazalgo's pricing page says there are no transaction fees. It charges a flat subscription.
Can I use Mazalgo and Soda together?
Yes. They do different jobs. Mazalgo is software you run on your own deals; Soda is where you find and trade with verified dealers. If you use both, decide which one holds your inventory of record.
