What does “Hulk” mean?

Submariner Date, green dial and bezel.

Hulk, explained

'Hulk' is the nickname for the Rolex Submariner Date 116610LV, made from 2010 to 2020, with a green dial and a green ceramic bezel, the colour of the comic-book character. It was the first Submariner with both a green dial and a green bezel, and it uses the 40 mm 'Super Case' with broad lugs, caliber 3135 and an Oyster bracelet with the Glidelock clasp.

The Hulk was discontinued in 2020 when Rolex launched the 41 mm 126610LV, which went back to a black dial with a green bezel. That gave the Hulk a clearly defined production run and made it a popular modern discontinued reference among collectors. Its green sunburst dial can look anywhere from bright green to almost black depending on the light, and collectors discuss slight shade differences between production years. The card date, the full set and the condition of the case, especially any polishing on the lugs, are the main value drivers.

Example: 'Hulk 116610LV, 2017, full set, unpolished, light desk-diving marks on the clasp.'
