Hyves and Soda agree on more than most platforms in this space do. Both are dealer-only. Both check who gets in. Both want trading to happen inside a platform rather than in a messy group chat. So this comparison comes down to the details: what a claim on a watch actually means, what you can see about the dealer on the other side, and how much of your business lives in one place.
Hyves' facts below come from its website and its App Store and Google Play listings as of October 2026. For the wider field, see our watch dealer platform comparison.
What Hyves is
Hyves calls itself "the premier B2B platform designed exclusively for professional watch dealers" in its App Store listing, titled "Hyves - B2B Watch Trading".[1] Its website, headlined "Turbocharge B2B Luxury Watch Trading", lists bags, watches, art and sneakers.[2] The Google Play listing names the developer as Giisty, based in the United Arab Emirates.[3]
Its listed features include document verification at registration, dealer profiles, listings with search and filters, personalized shops, in-app messaging, a bidding system, a 15-minute hold that lets you "reserve a watch for 15 minutes", "Looking For" requests with notifications, stars and reviews, market analytics, support-team conflict resolution, and what it calls "a confirmation-based transaction system, similar to Binance P2P".[1] The app is listed as free to download, for iPhone and Mac, with an Android version on Google Play.[1][3]
Why I built Soda differently
I sold watches for years before building Soda, and I'm still in many paid dealer groups. The thing I wanted most wasn't another place to post. It was a place where a "yes" meant yes, where I could see who I was dealing with before money moved, and where the deal record didn't live in screenshots.
And I wanted it to be about watches only. Watch dealing has its own language: references, card dates, link counts, full sets, aftermarket parts. I built Soda for the people who actually do this work, by watch dealers who've lived every one of these headaches.

A hold buys time. A claim makes a deal.
Hyves' 15-minute hold gives a buyer time to decide without losing the watch.[1] That's a fair idea. Soda solves a different moment: the one where the buyer has already decided.
On Soda, a buyer taps Mark as Sold to commit at the listed price. The first confirmed buyer wins, other buyers wait in a backup queue in case the deal falls through, and the seller has 24 hours to confirm. It's binding, and backing out earns a strike that other dealers can see. Need to negotiate instead? Offers are binding for the window you pick, 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days, and trade offers let you put watches on both sides with cash either way.
The track record behind the name
Hyves says dealers submit documents for verification and that "every professional is carefully checked by our team".[2] We agree that the door matters. On Soda, nobody trades until our team has manually reviewed their ID, a selfie holding that ID and business documents.
What happens after the door matters just as much. Every dealer on Soda appears with their real full name, company, rank and flag, and every profile shows the verification date, completed deals, completion rate, ratings, vouches and strikes. Reviews are one signal. A full reliability record is what tells you whether someone actually finishes deals.
Bank details that live inside the deal
The most expensive message in this trade is "here are my bank details", especially when it's followed by "sorry, use this account instead". On Soda, both sides see each other's secure, verified payment details inside the agreed deal and nowhere else. Any change must be confirmed by the owner by email or text, and everyone with an open deal is notified. We never touch your money. Our guide on how to buy a watch from a dealer safely covers the habits worth keeping on any platform.
Each deal page also holds the shipping terms both sides confirmed, tracking, packing photos and video, and documents.
The business around the deal
A trading app helps you find and agree deals. Soda also runs what happens around them. The inventory manager keeps your cost and margin private to your company, with bulk actions, private inventory and CSV or Excel export. Invoices take 5 seconds, in your own style, Letter or A4. Price history comes only from real deals on the platform. On the Team plan, the same inventory publishes to your own Shopify store, eBay US and a once-a-day Chrono24 feed, with separate wholesale and end-user prices, and Team accounts give every employee their own login and their own ID check.
Free download vs flat subscription
Hyves is listed as free to download, and we couldn't find a pricing page on its website as of October 2026.[1] Soda is a flat subscription: Solo from $80 USD a month or Team from $1,500 USD a year, same features, with Team adding employee seats. No commissions. No initiation fee. See pricing.
Who Soda is for
Soda is trade-only, for verified watch businesses. If you trade across bags, art and sneakers as well as watches, a multi-category app covers more of your shelves. If watches are your business and you want binding claims, real names, verified payment details, inventory, invoices and real price data in one tab, that's what we built.
The bottom line
Hyves and Soda both bring dealers out of group chats and into a vetted platform. Soda focuses on watches alone and goes further into the deal: binding Mark as Sold and offers, live auctions, visible reliability records, verified payment details inside every deal, and the inventory, invoices and price history to run the business around it.
