Soda vs ChronoGrid: Parse the Group Chat, or Move the Deal Off It?

ChronoGrid turns WhatsApp group posts into listings for vetted dealers. Here's how a trade-only platform with binding deals compares, as of October 2026.

5 min read

The short answer

ChronoGrid is a dealer-only B2B watch marketplace that reads WTS and WTB posts from your WhatsApp groups, turns them into structured listings and can broadcast your listings to many groups. As of October 2026 it doesn't list a price on its site. Soda is a trade-only platform where verified businesses close binding deals: Mark as Sold, offers, trade offers, live auctions and verified payment details, with no commissions.

Key takeaways

  • ChronoGrid builds on WhatsApp: it parses group posts into listings and broadcasts yours to many groups.
  • Soda moves the deal itself onto the platform, with binding Mark as Sold, offers and trade offers.
  • ChronoGrid vets members by company and email; Soda verification is a manual review of ID, selfie and business documents.
  • On Soda, payment details are verified and shown only inside an agreed deal.
  • If you still post in groups, Soda Quick Copy writes the post for you from your inventory.

There are two ways to fix the group chat. You can make the chat smarter: read the posts, tidy them up, make them searchable, send yours to more groups. Or you can move the deal somewhere that was built for deals. ChronoGrid has mostly taken the first route. I built Soda on the second.

My verdict: if WhatsApp groups are working for you and you just want them organised, ChronoGrid is worth a look. If what hurts is what happens after "available?", the claims, the back-outs, the payment details, you need a platform where the deal itself has rules. For how every option stacks up, see our watch dealer platform comparison.

What ChronoGrid is

ChronoGrid calls itself "the B2B platform professional watch dealers run on", with listings focused on brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille.[1] The apps are published by Chronolabs Inc.[4]

As of October 2026, its site describes four steps:[2]

  1. Apply and get verified. "Submit your company and email for verification", and "every member is vetted before they trade."
  2. Sync inventory or connect WhatsApp. AI "parses, enriches, and de-duplicates everything into a clean catalog."
  3. Post, search and track. WTS and WTB listings, search "across the entire trade at once", and alerts.
  4. Trade with verified dealers, with "oversight across the full buy and sell process."

Its WhatsApp page says it "reads WTS and WTB posts from your WhatsApp groups and turns them into structured listings", can "send a buy or sell listing to many groups at once", "paced to keep your number safe", and lets you bundle groups into reusable sets.[3] The homepage also mentions an "Authenticity Center" and an instant watch request feature.[1]

Pricing: we couldn't find a price on ChronoGrid's public website as of October 2026. The iOS and Android apps are listed as free.[4][5] It's a young product, actively updated: the Android app was last updated on September 22, 2026.[5]

Why I built Soda differently

I'm still in many paid dealer groups. I know why dealers stay: that's where the watches are. But I also know what a group can't do, however well its posts are parsed. It can't make "SOLD" binding. It can't stop a fake bank-details message. It can't show you who backed out last month.

So I didn't build a better layer on top of the chat. I built the place the chat was standing in for: one marketplace, real names, binding deals and records. A platform, not a group chat.

A post is not a deal

ChronoGrid's parsing turns a WhatsApp message into a clean, searchable listing linked to a verified dealer.[3] That's useful. But the moment two dealers want the same watch, you're back to the oldest question in the trade: who got it?

On Soda, the answer is a rule, not a timestamp argument. A buyer taps Mark as Sold and commits at the listed price. The first confirmed buyer wins. The seller confirms within 24 hours, and a backup queue is ready if the deal falls through. Backing out earns a strike that other dealers can see.

Offers and trades with rules

Most dealer negotiation in groups happens in DMs, and a "deal" there is a few messages nobody can enforce. On Soda, offers are binding and run for 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days. Trade offers put watches on both sides, with cash going either way, and they're binding too, with the cash paid before anything ships.

Payment details that can't be swapped in a message

The single easiest thing to fake in a chat-based deal is the bank details. On Soda, payment details never travel through chat. Once a deal is agreed, both sides see each other's secure, verified payment details inside the deal page only. Changes must be confirmed by the owner by email or text, and counterparties are notified. Shipping terms are confirmed by both sides, with tracking and packing photos or video stored on the deal. We never touch your money.

If you want the long version of why this matters, read why WhatsApp and Facebook groups are failing watch dealers.

Verification you can read

ChronoGrid describes company and email verification and says every member is vetted.[2] On Soda, nobody trades until our team has manually reviewed their ID, a selfie with that ID and business documents. Every profile then shows the dealer's real full name, company, rank and flag, the date they were verified, completed deals, completion rate, ratings, vouches and strikes. Our team doesn't trade on Soda.

Still posting in groups? Keep the post, lose the retyping

I won't pretend groups disappear overnight. Soda doesn't post into WhatsApp for you. What Quick Copy does is write the post: pick a watch in your inventory, and it builds a formatted WhatsApp or Facebook caption from the details you've already entered, ready to paste. Your inventory stays the record; the group is just one more window.

Who should switch

Soda is for registered watch businesses that trade with other dealers and want those trades to be binding, recorded and safe: solo dealers on Solo, and teams on Team, where every employee has their own login and ID check. If your whole business works well inside WhatsApp and you only want it tidier, you may not need to move yet.

The bottom line

ChronoGrid makes the group chat more organised and gives you a vetted marketplace on top of it. Soda replaces the parts of the chat that cost dealers money: binding Mark as Sold, offers and trade offers, verified payment details inside every deal, live auctions, records, inventory and invoices, with no commissions. See every row on how we compare.

Move the trade, not just the posts

Organising messages is a start. Giving every deal rules is the finish. Your listing goes live instantly, in front of verified dealers only. See all features, compare plans, then apply for access or book a demo.

Questions dealers ask

Is ChronoGrid free?

As of October 2026, ChronoGrid's iOS and Android apps are listed as free, and we couldn't find a price on its public website. Check with ChronoGrid directly for current terms.

What is the best ChronoGrid alternative for watch dealers?

If you want to keep your WhatsApp groups as the centre of your trade, a group-parsing tool fits that. If you want binding deals, verified payment details, live auctions and inventory in one place with verified businesses only, Soda is built for that.

Does ChronoGrid work with WhatsApp?

Yes. ChronoGrid says it reads WTS and WTB posts from your WhatsApp groups, normalises brand, model, reference and price, and can send a listing to many groups at once, paced to protect your number.

Can I use ChronoGrid and Soda together?

Yes. Nothing stops you using both. If you keep posting in groups while you trade on Soda, Quick Copy makes a group post from any watch in your inventory in two clicks.
