The Rolex box design used from around 2005.

Green Wave Box, explained
The green wave box is the name dealers use for the green Rolex presentation box with a wave pattern on the lid, which Rolex introduced around the mid-2000s and used for many years on most of its modern watches. It came with an outer box, and different sizes were used for different models.
For buyers of modern Rolex watches, the box is part of a complete set. A watch from that period usually looks most correct with this style of box, and a missing box can lower value a little, although papers matter far more. Because Rolex boxes are also sold and swapped on their own, the presence of a box does not prove it came with that specific watch. Dealers often note the box size or code and check for wear, scuffs and fading, especially on the outer box, which is easily damaged. Rolex has updated its packaging over time, so newer watches may come in a different design.
Typical usage: “Full set: green wave inner box, outer box, warranty card, booklets and hang tag, all in very good condition.”
