Extra Links, explained
Extra links, also called spare links, are bracelet links that were removed when the bracelet was sized and are supplied with the watch. Including them means the next owner can lengthen the bracelet to fit a larger wrist without having to buy new links.
Buyers value extra links because they make the bracelet complete. A watch with all its links is easier to sell and usually worth a little more than the same watch with links missing. When listing, dealers state how many spare links are included and, if helpful, the wrist size the bracelet currently fits. If a seller has the links but not the screws or pins, that should be mentioned too, as these small parts are easy to lose and not always simple to replace. Buyers who receive a watch should check that the links are genuine and match the bracelet's style and finish.
A typical listing line: “Bracelet sized for a 17.5 cm wrist, 3 extra links included in a pouch with their screws, so it will fit up to about 20 cm.”
