About the collection
The Star Wheel was introduced in the early 1990s and is one of Audemars Piguet's more unusual vintage pieces. It shows the hours with three rotating sapphire discs carried on a central wheel, each disc bearing four numerals, which pass along a minute scale on the dial. It is a modern version of the wandering-hours display.
The catalog includes ref. 25720 in pink gold, yellow gold and platinum, with automatic calibers listed as 2124 and 2224/2812. Because the mechanism is specialised, dealers check that the discs turn and align correctly and ask for service history.
