About the Autavia family

The Autavia name, from automobile and aviation, was first used by Heuer in 1933 for a dashboard timer, and in 1962 for a wrist chronograph with a rotating bezel. Vintage Autavias, including the early automatic Caliber 11 models, are sought after by collectors.

TAG Heuer revived the Autavia in the late 2010s with a chronograph using the in-house Heuer 02 and three-hand models with Caliber 5, some in bronze and with interchangeable straps. The catalog lists steel, bronze, DLC and steel and rose gold versions. Dealers separate vintage from modern first, then identify the movement and dial.
