About the Yacht-Master II family

The Yacht-Master II was introduced in 2007 as a 44 mm regatta chronograph with a programmable countdown, a function that times the start of a sailing race. It was the first Rolex to use the Ring Command bezel, which is turned to set the countdown length.

The first versions came in gold and platinum, and the steel ref. 116680 followed in 2013, with caliber 4161 throughout. In 2026 Rolex relaunched the model as refs. 126680 in Oystersteel and 126688 in yellow gold, with caliber 4162 and a countdown scale moved to the flange. Dealers separate the earlier 116xxx references from the 2026 generation by reference number and dial layout.
