About the Nautilus family
The Nautilus was introduced in 1976 with ref. 3700/1A, a steel sports watch designed by Gérald Genta with a rounded octagonal bezel, porthole-style case ears and an integrated bracelet. Its horizontally embossed dial has stayed a constant.
The ref. 5711/1A of 2006 became the best-known modern version, and its steel production ended in 2021. Other references include the 5712 with power reserve and moon phase, the 5726 annual calendar, the 5980 chronograph, the 5811/1G in white gold that followed the 5711, and ladies' models such as the 7118. Many use calibers from the 240 and 26-330 families. Dealers check the reference, dial colour, the Certificate of Origin and the number of bracelet links, and note whether the watch has been polished.
