About Montblanc

Montblanc began in Hamburg in 1906 as a maker of writing instruments and introduced its first watches in 1997, produced in Le Locle in Switzerland. As part of Richemont it gained the historic Minerva workshop in Villeret in 2006, which brought a long tradition of chronographs and hand-finished movements into the brand.

The catalog covers the 1858 collection, inspired by Minerva's mountaineering and military watches, and its dive model, the 1858 Iced Sea; the classic Star, Star Legacy, Heritage and Tradition lines; the sporty Timewalker; and the Summit smartwatches.

Montblanc references are six-digit numbers, which makes checking a watch against its papers simple. The pieces with Minerva movements and the limited editions attract the most interest from collectors, while the Iced Sea has become one of the brand's most popular sports models. Many standard models use movements based on proven outside calibers, so buyers mainly look at condition, the full set and the warranty card, which Montblanc extends when the watch is registered.
