About the collection
The Baignoire is one of Cartier's oval watches. Its elongated shape goes back to the early 20th century, and the name, French for bathtub, became attached to it in the 1950s. It is a small, jewellery-like watch, usually in gold, with Roman numerals following the curve of the case.
The catalog includes references in yellow, rose and white gold, such as the WGBA and WJBA families, the latter often set with diamonds. Dealers note the size, the metal and any factory setting, and check that the bracelet or bangle is complete.
