About the collection
The Type XXII is the high-frequency member of Breguet's pilot's chronograph family. Its movement runs at 72,000 vibrations per hour, or 10 Hz, using silicon parts in the escapement, which lets the central chronograph seconds hand travel around the dial in 30 seconds rather than 60.
The catalog lists the reference 3880, in steel and in rose gold. Because the movement is unusual, a service history from Breguet is especially valuable, and the chronograph and flyback should be tested before sale.
