About the Reine de Naples family
Reine de Naples was introduced in 2002 and is Breguet's signature ladies' collection. It is inspired by the watch Breguet made between 1810 and 1812 for Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples, often described as the first wristwatch. Its oval, egg-shaped case, off-centre dial and fluted case band make it instantly recognisable.
The core model is the reference 8918, an automatic with an oval case, offered in white, rose and yellow gold, many with diamond-set bezels and mother-of-pearl dials; jewellery and complicated versions also exist. With these watches the condition of the stones, the dial and the original strap matters as much as the movement.
