About the Fifty Fathoms family
The Fifty Fathoms appeared in 1953 and is one of the first modern dive watches. It was developed with French naval combat divers, who needed a reliable, legible watch with a locking rotating bezel; the name refers to the depth of about 91 metres that was then thought to be the limit for divers.
Modern Fifty Fathoms have a domed sapphire bezel insert, a large luminous dial and a sapphire caseback. The 45 mm reference 5015, introduced in 2007, runs on the caliber 1315 with a five-day power reserve, and in 2023 the brand added the 42 mm reference 5010 for its 70th anniversary.
