About the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe family
The Bathyscaphe name comes from a 1950s civilian version of the Fifty Fathoms. The modern line was introduced in 2013 as a cleaner, more understated sibling to the main Fifty Fathoms, with a 43 mm case in steel, titanium or ceramic, a ceramic bezel insert and a sober dial with applied markers.
The core time-and-date reference 5000 uses the caliber 1315 with five days of power reserve, while the 5200 is a flyback chronograph and smaller and complete calendar models complete the range. Gold versions in Sedna gold and grey ceramic examples also appear. For dealers, the Bathyscaphe offers the Fifty Fathoms name in a more wearable form, and the ceramic cases should be checked for chips at the edges.
