About the Zeitwerk family
The Zeitwerk was introduced in 2009 as a mechanical watch with a digital display: hours and minutes jump on discs read through a large window. Moving the discs at once needs a lot of energy, so the caliber L043.1 uses a constant-force mechanism to keep the rate stable.
Later versions include the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, which chimes the time in decimal fashion, and the Zeitwerk Date of 2021 with caliber L043.8.
