Unworn, explained
Unworn means the watch has never been worn on a wrist. It may have left the factory and been sold, and it may have changed hands since, but nobody has used it. Unworn watches often still have their factory stickers and protective film on the caseback, clasp or bezel, and an unsized bracelet with all its links.
Unworn is one of the most important condition labels for pricing, because many buyers will pay noticeably more for a watch that is effectively new. That makes it a claim that needs to be accurate. Buyers look for the stickers, a clasp without any marks, no wear on the bracelet's polished surfaces and a warranty card that matches the watch. The card date still matters: an unworn watch with a card from this year is usually more attractive than one dated several years earlier. If a watch has been tried on or sized, it is fairer to describe it as like new.
A typical post: “Unworn Rolex Sea-Dweller 126600, 2025 card, stickers on, full set, never sized.” BNIB is commonly used to mean the same thing.
