Own Label, explained

'Own label' means the buyer provides their own prepaid shipping label, and the seller simply packs the watch and hands it to the carrier. It is common between dealers who have business accounts with carriers or specialist insurers, which can give better rates or cover than the seller would get.

The seller should check the label carefully before using it: the declared value and insurance, the service level, signature requirements and the delivery address. Many dealers treat a shipment on the buyer's own label as the buyer's risk once it is handed over, but that should be agreed in writing rather than assumed, especially with someone new. Pack the watch well, photograph it and the sealed parcel before handover, and keep the drop-off receipt. Some sellers only accept own labels from people they already know.

Example: 'Sending my own label, insured for the full amount, please drop it off today and send the receipt.'
