Hard Call, explained
A hard call is a serious enquiry from someone with real intent to buy or sell, usually with the funds or the watch ready. It is the opposite of a soft call.
When a dealer says it is a hard call, they expect a firm price rather than a range, and they are signalling that they can complete quickly if the price works. Sellers usually respond by holding the watch briefly, sharing more photos or details, and confirming the set and condition. Calling something a hard call and then walking away without good reason harms a dealer's credibility, so most use the term only when they mean it. Clear details help keep a hard call on track: reference, card date, condition, price, shipping and payment terms. Many sold orders begin as hard calls.
Example: 'Hard call: client is ready, wire today if you can do this price shipped.'
