All Original, explained
All original, or OG in shorthand, means every part of the watch is the one it left the factory with: dial, hands, bezel, case, crown, crystal, bracelet and movement. Nothing has been replaced with a service part or an aftermarket one.
The term matters most for vintage watches, where originality is one of the biggest factors in value. Over decades, many watches have had their dials, hands or bezels replaced during servicing, so a truly original example is harder to find. Claims of all original need to be checked carefully, ideally with service records, photographs compared against known references and an inspection by someone who knows the model. For modern watches, all original usually simply means no aftermarket parts have been added.
A typical description: “All original vintage Omega Seamaster, original dial and hands with matching lume, no service replacements known.” Note that all original is stricter than correct: a correct watch may have period-appropriate parts that were not on it originally.
