About Piaget

Piaget was founded in 1874 by Georges-Édouard Piaget in La Côte-aux-Fées in the Swiss Jura, at first making movements for other brands. It became known for ultra-thin watchmaking with the hand-wound caliber 9P in 1957 and the automatic caliber 12P in 1960, and for combining watches with jewellery and hard-stone dials. Piaget has been part of Richemont since 1988.

The catalog covers the ultra-thin Altiplano, the Polo sports watch first launched in 1979 and its 2024 reissue the Polo 79, and the jewellery lines Limelight Gala and Possession.

Piaget references begin with G0A, followed by a number, which makes checking a watch against its papers straightforward. The Polo, especially in steel and the Polo 79 in gold, draws the most dealer interest, while Altiplano models are valued for their thin cases and classic dials. With gem-set pieces, buyers check that every stone is present and original, and the full set and service history help in every case.
