About the Seamaster Ploprof family
The Ploprof, short for Plongeur Professionnel, was introduced in 1970 for professional divers. Its large monobloc case, with no removable caseback, was rated to 600 metres, and the bezel is unlocked with a red push-button so it cannot be moved by accident.
Omega reissued the design in 2009 as the Ploprof 1200M, and later versions in titanium use Master Chronometer calibers. The catalog includes vintage refs. such as 166.077 and modern references in steel and titanium. Dealers check the bezel lock, the condition of the mesh bracelet or strap and, on vintage pieces, the originality of the dial and hands.
