About Jaeger-LeCoultre

Jaeger-LeCoultre began in 1833, when Antoine LeCoultre opened a workshop in Le Sentier in the Vallée de Joux. The company grew into a manufacture that made almost every part of a watch under one roof and supplied movements to many other brands. The Jaeger-LeCoultre name dates from the 1930s, after a partnership with the Paris-based Edmond Jaeger, and the company is part of the Richemont group.

Its most famous design is the Reverso of 1931, created for polo players in India, whose case flips over to protect the crystal. The catalog also covers the Master family (Master Control, Master Ultra Thin and Master Grande Tradition), the Polaris sports watches, the Geophysic, the Duomètre with its two separate energy systems and the Rendez-Vous for women. The brand has created well over a thousand calibers over its history.

Jaeger-LeCoultre references usually start with Q followed by seven digits, which identify the model and variant. Dealers check the reference, movement and case metal, the box and papers and, on Reverso models, the condition and any engraving on the back of the case.
