About Hublot

Hublot was founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco in Geneva. Its first watch, with a round case inspired by a ship's porthole, the meaning of the French word hublot, was one of the first luxury watches to pair a gold case with a natural rubber strap. In 2004 Jean-Claude Biver joined as chief executive, and the Big Bang of 2005 brought the brand's idea of the Art of Fusion: combining very different materials in one watch. Hublot has been part of LVMH since 2008.

The catalog covers the Big Bang, the slimmer Classic Fusion, the Spirit of Big Bang with its tonneau case, the Big Bang Integrated and Square Bang, and the MP high-complication pieces. The brand's own Unico chronograph movement, with calibers such as HUB1280, appears across many lines, and Hublot works with materials such as King Gold, Magic Gold, coloured ceramics and sapphire.

Hublot references encode the model, case material and dial. Dealers quote them in full, check the condition of ceramic and sapphire parts, which cannot be polished like metal, and look for the original straps, warranty card and box. Limited editions are identified by their number.
