About Ferdinand Berthoud

Ferdinand Berthoud is named after the 18th-century watchmaker (1727–1807) who made marine clocks for the French navy. The brand was created in 2015 by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, co-president of Chopard, and its watches are made in Fleurier.

The catalog lists the Chronomètre FB 1 and its variants, the FB 2RE, FB 2RSM, FB 2T and FB 3SPC, and the Mesure du Temps 1787. The watches are COSC-certified chronometers, most with a fusée-and-chain transmission for even force, and many have the octagonal case with side portholes that show the movement. The first model, the FB 1, won the Aiguille d'Or at the 2016 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.

Production is limited and numbered, so dealers check the number, the chronometer certificate and the papers.
