Daytime Consulting wants every professional in the watch trade to be able to use Soda, including people with disabilities and people using assistive technologies. This statement applies to soda.watches and the signed-in dealer platform.
1. Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines are also the basis for accessibility requirements in many of the markets we serve, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as commonly applied to websites in the United States, the Accessible Canada Act and Ontario's AODA, and the European Accessibility Act.
2. What we do
- Design. Colour contrast is checked in both light and dark appearance. Information is never conveyed by colour alone; for example auction states use text labels as well as colour.
- Keyboard. All interactive elements can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Screen readers. We use semantic HTML, meaningful headings and labels, and accessible components for dialogs, menus and form controls.
- Motion. Animations are subtle and are reduced or removed when your device is set to reduce motion. Nothing flashes more than three times per second.
- Text. Pages remain usable when zoomed to 200% and support system text-size settings. Prices and reference numbers use clear, tabular figures.
- Time limits. Live auctions are time-based by nature. Countdown timers are announced to assistive technology, the anti-sniping rule (a late bid adds time to the clock) gives every bidder a fair chance to respond, and proxy (maximum) bidding lets you bid without needing to act at the last moment.
- Testing. We test with automated tools and manual checks, including screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA, before every major release.
3. Known limitations
We are a young platform and are still improving. Areas we know need work:
- Some older listing photos uploaded by dealers may lack detailed descriptions (alternative text). We prompt dealers to add them.
- Some price history charts may not yet have full text alternatives. We provide the underlying numbers in tables where possible.
- Third-party components, such as identity-verification or payment screens, are provided by our partners. We choose partners who commit to accessibility, but we do not fully control their interfaces.
We will update this section after each accessibility review.
4. Feedback and help
If you have difficulty using any part of Soda, or need information in a different format, contact us:
- Our contact form (mention "Accessibility" in your message)
Please tell us the page or feature, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and assistive technology you use. We aim to respond within 2 business days, and, where we cannot fix a barrier quickly, we will help you complete your task another way, for example by assisting you with verification by phone or video.
5. Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate your complaint by replying to our response and asking for a review by a senior member of the team. You may also have the right to contact the relevant regulator in your country.
6. Review
We review this statement at least once a year and when we make significant changes to the Platform.
