Sold with or without its bracelet or strap.
Strapped / Unstrapped, explained
'Strapped' means a watch is sold with its bracelet or strap attached; 'unstrapped' means it comes without one, as just the watch head. The terms help avoid misunderstandings in quick trade messages, where a price might otherwise be read as including a bracelet that isn't there.
Whether a watch is strapped makes a real difference to value. An original bracelet, especially a matching metal bracelet from the brand, can be a significant part of the price, and for some references the correct bracelet is hard to find on its own. Dealers should state whether the bracelet or strap is original to the watch, a later replacement from the brand, or aftermarket. An unstrapped watch is usually priced lower, because the buyer has to source a bracelet or strap, and the cost of doing so belongs in the price discussion.
Example: 'Unstrapped, head only, priced to allow for a bracelet.'
