Links, explained
Links are the individual segments of a metal bracelet. 'Full links' means the bracelet has all the links it came with from the brand, either fitted or included separately, so it can be sized up for a larger wrist. '-2 links' or 'short two links' means two are missing, so the bracelet will fit only up to a certain wrist size.
Missing links reduce value and limit who can wear the watch, and original replacement links can be hard to find or need ordering through the brand. Dealers therefore state the link count and, ideally, the approximate wrist size the bracelet fits as it stands. Buyers should also check for bracelet stretch, especially on older bracelets, since worn pins and holes let the links sag. Spare links in the box should be the correct type for that bracelet.
Example: 'Full links, two spare links in the box, fits up to about a 7.5-inch wrist.'
